The Dubh Linn Gate Pub in BC Canada

The Dubh Linn Gate Irish Pub’s origins are rooted in Ireland’s traditional heritage. Long ago, back in the mists of time, the name “Dubh Linn” – Irish for “black pool” – was given to the dark pool of water that still lies today beneath the proud heart of Dublin City. Located close to what is now the gate of the Guinness Brewery, the dark waters from this pool were the inspiration for Arthur Guinness’ “Perfect Pint”. Guinness has been brewed in Dublin since 1759.

Designed and handcrafted in Ireland, the Dubh Linn Gate Pub and Restaurant was transported piece by piece around the world to the the ground floor of The Pan Pacific Whistler Mountainside. The Pan Pacific Whistler Mountainside is located at the base of magnificent Blackcomb Mountain, just north of Vancouver, British Columbia. Enhanced by a huge 100 seat outdoor patio, the Dubh Linn Gate has a dream location, standing toe-to-toe with the gondolas, chair-lifts and ski-slopes of North America’s busiest four-season mountain resort.

The Dubh Linn Gate is unsurpassed in uniting this exceptional location with authentic Irish pub charm. Opening in May 1998, the “Gate” is decorated to showcase a pictorial journey through Ireland’s culture. It’s the place to have great times, to meet friends, to celebrate your time in Whistler. Over a half a million pints of Guinness later, the Dubh Linn Gate Old Irish Pub has become Whistler’s ultimate après-ski experience. It is destined to become Whistler’s premiere party center for the upcoming 2010 Olympics and Paraolympic games. Your trip to Whistler is not complete without a visit to ‘The Gate.’

Grace O'Malley's Pub, Chicago

Your South Loop Local Grace O'Malley's Restaurant~Pub is already the place to be for all ages. Three young ladies share a bottle of Chardonnay and snack on South Loop Flatbread over work gossip at cocktail tables along the windows overlooking Michigan Avenue. At the bar, the usual suspects have met up and cheer for the Chicago White Sox on the big screens, as Konerko steps up to bat. Behind them, at the high tables and stools, they are making quick friends with the "Guy's Night Out" crowd, who looks like they haven't eaten for weeks. A base hit calls for cheers and high-fives. In the more intimate dining room, kids visit the 'Sundae Bar' on Family Night. Dad sneaks away to see the score of the game as mom helps the little one with sprinkles and crumbled Oreos over vanilla. Don't forget the cherry! Two tables away, Jim and Sarah, who live next door, can't get enough of the Irish Bleu-Cheese Crusted Pork Loin and Chopped Blarney Salad. They're asking the waitress Annie what she did for her birthday on Saturday. Speaking of birthdays, a crowd of 60 people waits patiently under dimmed lights upstairs. Today is Brian's 40th, and his wife, family and friends are throwing him a surprise party in one of the private banquet rooms. He'll be here any minute. The place is filling up, and it's only Monday.

Join us all at Grace O'Malley's for lunch or dinner any day of the week, or the brunch buffet on Sundays. We're always serving up great pub traditions, like Fish 'N' Chips or Shepherd's Pie, with new appetizers and favorites throughout our menu.
